Location, Design and Ecology

Due to its position at the heart of Europe, excellent transport links and outward-looking policies, many global organisations are choosing Luxembourg City for head offices and operations offices. They demand inspiring design, cutting-edge quality and optimum performance in office architecture, and the Luxembourg government is constantly innovating to improve access and facilities for the many local and cross-border workers who fill these buildings. At least a dozen “green buildings”, totalling about 80 000m², are due to be completed by 2013.

These green buildings reduce environmental impact and energy expenditure through geothermal energy, solar panels, rainwater recovery, better waste management and improved building-use cost management. They enhance wellbeing via improved natural lighting, acoustics, noise reduction and ambient air quality. Most hold eco-certificates such as LEED, BREEAM, HQE®, or DGNB.
